Willbrook Plantation

Location 426 Tidewater Circle
Pawleys Island, SC 29585
Rating 4

Noted course designer Dan Maples has often referred to Willbrook Plantation as “One of my best!” Carved from the site of two Carolina Plantations, Willbrook offers a tranquil blend of golf and wildlife that has been featured on Nature Scene TV. New hybrid “Champion” Bermuda greens installed in late 2006 have made it even more stunning.

Located on the south end of the Grand Strand, and as part of the Waccamaw Golf Trail, Willbrook winds its way amid a centuries-old oak forest where nature abounds. It was recently featured on the award-winning television show “Nature Scene” for its peaceful coexistence of golfers and nature. The par-5 15th hole, demonstrates the many challenges of the wetlands, waterways and stately oaks used in this great design. Willbrook is known for not only the tactical play ability required, but also for the natural surroundings you’ll experience. This makes it a favorite of returning women golfers.

For the sixth year in a row, Golf for Women has listed Willbrook on their list of “America’s 50 Best Courses,” (this year at #25) and Golf Digest awarded it 4.5 STARS since 2006 in their “Places to Play.”

Included in Golf Digest’s America’s Top 50 Courses for Women for 2010

“Top 50 for Women” – by Golf For Women Magazine (Number 25 in the US).

Holes 1 and 15 are featured in the book The 100 Greatest Holes along the Grand Strand, published by The Sun News

Classic course in a beautiful setting. Nice mix of holes testing all the shots. Becoming a new favorite of mine

Played Willbrook several times and always enjoyed. I booked online and didn't know that they just aerated the greens, would have been nice to know before booking.

  3. CHARLES IRICK 07/31/2019

Excellent condition; beautiful layout; challenging holes. Will return

  4. Ted Wielepski 07/28/2019

Course is in excellent shape. Greens looked faster then they played but in good shape. Several greens had some rough spots on them but all good. Fairways & Tee boxes are very nice. Rough was a little high. Pace of play was under 4 hours for our foursome.

  5. Lee NeSmith 07/13/2019

Great experience and a great day !!!

  6. Charlie Rollins 06/20/2019

Course design/layout and overall views were great. Friendly staff. Fairways and tee boxes in great condition and the course is very easy to play...but the greens were very uneven and bumpy. Still highly recommend.

  7. Jeff Parker 06/18/2019

Awesome loved it ! You can hit your driver on every hole

  8. Richard Laurent 06/14/2019

Not in as good shape as a couple years ago. Many spots were very wet on the early holes (recent heavy rains) and many spots on the fairway were almost bare of grass. Staff was all very friendly and professional.

EXCELLENT! Living in Michigan, there is an abundance of courses for play, the major difference is, the cost and the environment. Retired from the ARMY, I belong to a course on a military installation, however, any opportunity to visit/play the courses in the Myrtle Beach area, is always most welcome. Courses are excellent and the staff/personnel/environment for play, are always user friendly. We shall return.

One of the best courses I have ever played in the Myrtle Beach area, and I've played nearly 50 over the years.
