River Club

Location 1 Club Circle
Pawleys Island, SC 29585
Rating 4

River Club has proven to be one of the most challenging courses in the Myrtle Beach area and features new Champion Ultradwarf greens. This Tom Jackson signature course is one of the premier “plantation” courses and a favorite among returning golfers.

Play one of the highest rated courses in Golf Digest’s “Places to Play” with 4.5 STARS since 2006. True to its name, River Club features water on 15 of 18 holes, and over 100 sand traps and bunkers. Long hitters have some room off the tee, but approach shots need to be true. The dramatic par-5, 18th is unquestionably one of the finest finishing holes on the Grand Strand, offering risk and reward to those who can carry the water twice for a possible chance at eagle. As part of the Waccamaw Golf Trail, River Club is one award winning design you won’t want to miss.

Holes #14 & #18 are featured in the book “The 100 Greatest Holes Along the Grand Strand,” – published by The Sun News

Nice layout and great shape tee to green. Greens roll true and speed is good for all levels of players. Ball will sit down in Bermuda when you miss the fairway so follow errant shots. Verticut around outer band of greens will add extra challenge to chipping. Friendly staff. I always enjoy playing this course.

Course is in great shape. I gave the Overall & Customer service a little lower due to pace of play ( 4 hours 45 minutes ) which is not good this time of year. There was a ranger on the course but he never moved the several groups that were slowing down the course. That's the main reason for my lower score. I have a suggestion for anyone playing golf. Leave your egos at home & play from the correct set of tees . It will be more fun for everybody.....
