Long Bay Club

Long Bay Club

Location 350 Fox Tail Drive
Longs, SC 29568
Rating 4.1 Stars

Great golf courses are often described as where the holes become etched in your memory. Long Bay Club is such a course.

The Long Bay Club is a magnificent Jack Nicklaus Signature Course that is consistently ranked among the top courses in the state. This is not a typical Nicklaus design; deep pot bunkers and vast waste areas add a unique identity and challenge.

Considered one of the most difficult golf courses on the Grand Strand, this Jack Nicklaus-designed masterpiece was built to challenge even the most adroit golfer. Formidable in every feature, Long Bay displays countless large man-made mounds, a demanding 137 slope from the championship tees (127 from the ladies), handsome but deceiving par-3 holes and bottomless bunkers.

With a beautiful clubhouse, and a fully stocked pro shop, grill and immense practice area, Long Bay is a place you can spend the whole day at and enjoy a wide array of golf experiences.

Some of the holes at Long Bay have become some of the most recognized in golf. Long Bay Club was awarded 4.5 STARS by Golf Digest’s “Places to Play” in 2006.

  2. Joseph 03/15/2020

Nice layout and away from the hustle and bustle of the beach.

  3. Michael 03/07/2020

Ive played a lot of different courses in North and South Carolina and Long Bay is in the Top3 of the Nicest and Most Enjoyable rounds of golf Ive had. I cant say enough good things about this facility.

Would definitely play again when in the area. The only negative I can speak of is cart return. When heading to parking lot from 18 we are searching for car so did notice cart return signs. The "cart men" were a little rude in their behavior for missing the signs. Yelling directions from their stand to the parking lot and then clapping when I finally made it there. I usually tip again when I return cart but felt their remarks about the cart return signs and their clapping on my getting it there, were uncalled for. Other than that the course was in superb shape and we were able to drive throughout even with all the rain. The starter was great as well as pro shop.

    Beautiful and well kept.

  7. Randy 12/29/2019

Good condition but fairways were quite wet and greens were a little slow

  8. John 12/12/2019

Tiny, I mean tiny greens. Playing in the cold and wind required exacting iron distances. I hit 12 fairways and 1 green.

Always enjoy Nicklaus designed courses and this one did not disappoint. Very friendly staff, will be back again in the spring with a larger group
