King’s North at Myrtle Beach National

Location 4900 National Drive
Myrtle Beach, SC 29579
Rating 4

This sensational Arnold Palmer signature course was recognized among America’s Best New Courses when it opened in 1996.

King’s North made its way onto Golf Digest’s prestigious list of “America’s 100 Greatest Public Courses- 2004” and Golf Digest’s “Places to Play” has awarded it 4.5 STARS ever since! Plus, from 2000-2004 Golf for Women ranked it their “Top 100 Courses in America”, truly a must play in the Myrtle Beach area.

Famous for the island green and South Carolina shaped sand traps of Hole 3; the famed par-5 sixth hole, nicknamed “The Gambler” that tempts golfers with a shortcut to the green via an island fairway. (Two great shots allow a chance to eagle); and with over 40 sand traps guarding the fairway on Hole 18 it is easy to see why this has been the most recognized and requested course on the beach for over 25 years.

Amazing! Played here 20+ hrs ago with my dad and two brothers. Had the opportunity to play it this week with my 9 yr old son. One of the best days of my life!

Interesting layout which takes full advantage of the surroundings. Course was in great shape, greens rolled very nicely. Would recommend and pay again.

First time playing King's North and can see why it's the prized course of the 3 MBN courses. Loved it!

Nice course but always slow play on 2nd nine. Drop a tee time our keep play moving

Very nice course. Busy. a lot of poor care from golfers - many divots not replaced or sanded on the approaches to greens especially, and on fairway. Many many pitch marks left on the greens, affecting putting. Needs starters to remind people, and rangers to actually enforce more rigorously, as it is ruining a great course.

The layout on Kings North was amazing. We played Kings North in the afternoon after a nice lunch in the clubhouse after finishing up the morning on the West Course. The course was in great shape and the facility was great. The one negative we had on the North Course was the pace of play. We played the West Course earlier in the day in just over 4 hours and the staff and rangers were excellent. For Kings North, we almost didn\'t get to finish the round after teeing off slightly after 2 PM because no rangers came out after we got to the turn (approximately 2.5 hours later). There were 2 groups ahead of us with 5 open holes ahead of them, but no rangers to move them along. We found out at the end of our round (slightly over 5 hours) that the rangers were sent home after the last group (the one following us) made the turn. If those two groups could have been pushed along, the round would have been closer to 4 hours and 15 minutes. We\'ll know next time that we should try to book for the morning round because everything moved perfectly when the rangers were there.
